Goalkeeper Andy Coughlin has signed for Wrexham FC on a one year deal today.

The former Tranmere keeper has been training with the reds for the past two weeks and after impressing on several pre-season outings was offered a contract.

Coughlin will challenge Joslain Mayebi for the number one spot next season having been released by Tranmere Rovers at the end of the season, despite recently making his debut for them.

The 19 year old said: “I’m enjoying it here, so was glad that the chance to join Wrexham was made.”

Wrexham FC Manager Andy Morrell said: “He’s a big lad who seems to have improved during his time with us,” said manager Andy Morrell.

“We like what we have seen of him and I’m very happy that he has agreed to sign up for the coming season.

“I have re-assured him that while Jossy is our number one, he will be given an opportunity should Jossy’s form drop.

“So he has to work hard in training everyday and push Jossy all the way.”
