Tenovus are looking for participants to take part in a zip wire challenge in aid of the charity’s breast cancer appeal.

On September 14 the charity are offering people the chance to take part on the longest zip wire in Europe at Penrhyn Quarry in Bangor.

The zip wire will take you 700ft above a mountain lake at speeds of up to 90mph.

Participants will be supplied with a flying suit to wear that is wind and shower proof. Helmets and goggles will also be supplied. However you must supply your own warm clothing and a waterproof coat (and ideally waterproof trousers). Footwear must be fitted securely. Walking boots are ideal.

Harnesses contain a secure pocket for wallets and small cameras. It may also be necessary for participants to carry their own trolley.

The zip lining experience requires very little physical effort on the part of participants; however, an ability to walk 200 metres on a track, wearing a harness, is necessary.

It costs £40 to register and there is a minimum fundraising requirement of £30.

Tenovus are a Welsh cancer charity who provide support services and fund vital research to improve the outcomes and experiences for people with cancer. They also have shops across Wales and South West England.

For further information or for a registration form then please contact Molly Whelan at [email protected]. Or alternatively phone 07800 790353.
