A large pet store in Wrexham is set to close at the end of this week.

The Pets at Home store on Border Retail Park, Holt Road, will close its doors for the final time at 6pm on Friday 1st September.

The store was the second Pets at Home to open in Wrexham, joining the slightly larger store on the Plas Coch Retail Park near Sainsbury’s – which will remain open.

The store opened on the retail park five years ago at the end of October 2012 and created nine jobs. At the time it was stated that the store would be home to coldwater and tropical fish; along with pet supplies and Support Adoption for Pets unit to help re-home animals in the area.

A sign displayed outside the store reads: “We’re closing at 6pm on Friday 1st September. But don’t worry, your nearest store isn’t far away!

“Find us on Wrexham Retail Park, Plas Coch Road, LL11 2BA. We have an in-store pet grooming salon and a vets surgery.”
