A 55-year-old man from Wrexham has been handed a four-year community behaviour order (CBO).

Police say that Paul Evans, of no fixed abode, appeared at Wrexham Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 13 having admitted assault following an incident in Queen’s Square on May 21.

He was issued a CBO which means Evans cannot enter Wrexham city centre for the next four years and must engage with drug and alcohol services.

Criminal Behaviour Orders are issued by a criminal court to tackle serious and persistent individuals engaged in criminal activity.

Breaching a criminal behaviour order is a criminal offence and could result in imprisonment.

Wrexham city Support Sergeant Rhian Hughes said: “Paul Evans is a persistent offender in Wrexham, and I hope that this CBO will provide reassurance to residents and the community.”
