Welcome To Wrexham’s international recognition has been warmly praised locally.
In the early hours of yesterday morning the 2024 Emmy awards results were announced, as we reported the Welcome to Wrexham documentary landed five.
Later yesterday afternoon WCBC Chief Executive Ian Bancroft said: “Football, and Wrexham Football Club are part of the fabric and culture of Wrexham. The club and community are intrinsically linked with club successes translating into community benefits and confidence.
“The documentary has given the world a taste of what Wrexham is all about, and what we can offer, as well as offering exposure that we would never previously thought possible. So I would like to congratulate everyone involved on their multi Emmy success, and thank you for showcasing our fantastic community.
Leader of Wrexham Council Cllr Mark Pritchard said: “I would like to congratulate the entire team involved in the production of ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ on receiving an outstanding 5 Emmy awards last night.
“Wrexham is now a household name, with a global audience, and this is in thanks to everyone involved from Rob and Ryan, Wrexham football club players and staff, the award winning documentary crew and our fantastic community who feature widely in ‘Welcome to Wrexham’. ‘Llongyfarchiadau’ (congratulations) to everyone involved and we look forward in anticipation to what happens next!”
