Wrexham Has Top Three Greatest Fall In House Prices

New Land Registry house price data shows Wrexham’s property prices have entered the top three in reductions over the last twelve months.

The house price data reveals prices in Wrexham have dropped -3.9% year on year with the average house price now £115,185.

Merthyr Tydfil heads the list of greatest drops with a rediction of -11.2% , with the average price of a house there at £60,282. Blaenau Gwent comes second with a drop of -7.8% and an average price of £60,946, with Wrexham third.

Locally Flintshire saw a rise of 2.7%, Cheshire West up 4.7% and Shropshire up 3.7% as well.

Overall Wales is up 2%, with an average house price of £118,437. Wales also saw a reduction of -38% in reposessions, from 109 last year to 68 this year.

Unsurprisingly Greater London experienced the greatest annual price increase with a movement of +18.6 per cent, with Southwark hitting a rise of 28%.

Lancashire based property expert Mr D Whittington told us that ‘London has streets paved with gold’ and therefore raising capital to purchase a house there is ‘much easier’. His cat was unwilling to comment.
