Wrexham groups to benefit from North Wales PCC’s Community Christmas Fund
Five organisations in Wrexham will benefit from a £15,000 Community Christmas Fund recently launched by North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner.
The groups are amongst 50 across north Wales to receive a share of the fund, which aims to support communities over the festive period.
All organisations were nominated by officers and staff of North Wales Police, with most working to support vulnerable children, young people and their families.
In Wrexham five organisations will receive a share of the funding:-
- Reactive Charity, part of Bitesize Youth Charity, Wrexham
- Action for Children, Wrexham
- 1st Esclusham Scout Group
- The Venture, CIC, Caia Park, Wrexham
- Gwenfro Valley Adventure Playground, Queensway, Wrexham
Andy Dunbobbin, Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales said: “Supporting communities is a key pledge in my Police and Crime Plan for North Wales and I recognise that small grants can make a big difference to community organisations.
“This is especially the case at this time of year when young people, families and other vulnerable groups across North Wales will be affected more than most by the Christmas cost-of-living crisis.
“This is why I asked Police Officers, PCSOs and police staff to recommend the organisations they felt would benefit most.
“These colleagues know their communities best and I was delighted with the response.
“I look forward to seeing the money put to good use by the organisations who will receive it and bring much-need festive cheer at this time of year.”
