Hundreds of food lovers flocked to Llwyn Isaf this weekend to enjoy the annual Wrexham Food Festival.

As with previous years the event was spaced out Llwyn Isaf, with food stalls inside the white marquee and eateries outside on the field.

This year’s event included plenty of stalls from local business, along with live cookery demonstrations from top chefs, including Lesley Waters.

In previous years there has been comments regarding the layout and spacing out of the stalls inside the marquee, however when we popped down on the Saturday, we found there was more space to wander around in!

There were a variety of stalls on hand during the day, with traders offering jams, fudge, vinegars and pork pies.  Local restaurant Croes Howell and new cupcake shop on the scene, Volette were also in attendance offering some rather tasty treats!

The Gift of Oil – a business that specialises in virgin olive oils and balsamic vinaigrettes were also at the event, showcasing their rather impressive range of oils.

While there was the chance for some free samples inside the marquee, outside there was the chance to experiment with some new cuisines for your lunch, with a number of eateries available to try.

Orchard Pigs – who specialise in handmade baked goods, had a rather impressive displays of breads and pies. We couldn’t resist getting ourselves a pork pie or two!

Aballu were also on hand with chocolate goodies, including some rather interesting (and tasty) chocolate pizzas.

Outside there was a range of eateries for you to buy your lunch from, however the American Street food stall was one of the more popular stalls of the weekend – offering a variety of ‘Hot Dogz’ and pulled pork baps.

Elsewhere at the festival there was a Caribbean stall selling curried goat (surprise fave of the weekend!), crepes, traditional cider and ostrich burgers.
