Wrexham family fundraising to make garden accessible to baby daughter
The parents of a Wrexham baby with a rare health condition are fundraising for improvements to their garden so their daughter can access it in the summer.
Georgia Hooson and Jordan Price’s daughter Halli-Rose was born with a rare genetic condition caused by chromosomes in her body which means she is deaf, has to be tube fed and will need a wheelchair as she gets older.
Due to Halli-Rose’s complex needs the couple, along with their second daughter Iris, aged five, moved from their small flat in Rhosddu to a three-bedroom bungalow in Hightown.
“The house is getting there, and is much bigger so we can get Halli-Rose around the house much better than we ever would have in that flat,” said Georgia.
“But unfortunately the garden isn’t really in a state we can get Halli-Rose outside and isn’t wheelchair accessible.”
The couple would love to be able to get outside into the garden to with their daughters this summer and spend time as a family.
“It will be so amazing to be able to spend time in the garden with Halli-Rose and Iris,” said Jordan.
“Because of how rare Halli-Rose’s condition is, we don’t really know what to expect for the future and are taking each day as it comes.
“Our time is precious and being able to use our garden would be amazing.”
The couple have had quotes for £1,500 to £2,000 to have some work done, such as putting a patio down and some artificial grass so they can take the push chairs and a wheelchair out.
“This is not something we can afford on our own, so if anyone can help donate to our fundraiser for the garden we would be so very grateful,” said Georgia.
