A community hub in Wrexham city centre is hosting a series of free courses throughout August and September.

The programmes at Lle Hapus, on Eagles Meadow are aimed at helping to develop skills for those in or looking for work.

There are also courses for setting up a business or to improve digital skills including protecting against scams.

They are part of the “Be Hapus Project” which is funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund’ and supported by Wrexham County Borough Council.

Lle Hapus Co-director Sharon Rogers said, “We have been putting on free workshops and courses since the beginning of June, we have given marketing courses, help with CV classes, introduction to various apps workshops and ‘drop-ins’ on the software staples like Excel.

Ms Rogers added: “We have enjoyed meeting all the people on the courses thus far, and listening to their stories.

“One of them came along to our CV help ‘drop in’ on a Friday and got a new job offer the Wednesday after. It’s very rewarding.”

“If anyone would like to enrol on our courses, just go to our website or search ‘Lle Hapus Wrexham’ on Facebook for details.

“We have used the feedback and suggestions from previous events to improve the courses further.

“Looking forward, we are currently exploring how to carry on the free courses after September and hopefully, if funding is provided, putting these courses online.”
