Wrexham charity looking for participants for 66-day healthy lifestyle pilot

Wrexham.com for people living in or visiting the Wrexham area

A Wrexham charity is on the search for participants for an innovative pilot that aims to transform your lifestyle and help you realise the healthier you.

The Rainbow Foundation has teamed up with Wrexham University to host the 66-day programme ‘Changing Habits for Life’.

It has been inspired by ‘The 21 Day Body Turnaround with Dr Michael Mosley’, featured on Channel 4, and has been enhanced by adopting a wider body of research and proven techniques to initiate lasting change in peoples’ habits, which in turn improves their health outcomes.

The programme will feature extensive tests, customised coaching, lifestyle advice and peer support.

The Rainbow Foundation is looking for 12 participants, who are aged 18 and over and have one or more of the following:

  • BMI over 30
  • High Cholesterol
  • Pre diabetic/diabetic
  • High Blood Pressure

Once you enrol, the programme will deliver a bespoke and comprehensive programme that will help improve your bodies and minds in measurable ways.

Starting with a health assessment to get a clear picture of your health and baseline measurements – using indicators to evidence how old is their body compared to their actual age; and involving a blood test and fitness level and body composition tests.

You will then be provided with the chance to explore your results and take part in the programme which consists of 2 sessions a week for 10 weeks.

During the sessions you will be given health and fitness advice, coaching and support. And at the end of the course the health assessment is repeated, and you will be able to celebrate all you have achieved.

The course starts at the end of September and lasts for 10 weeks.
