Sebastian Revan and Callum Burton are now reds!

Burton, 27, arrives in North Wales on a free transfer, having left EFL Championship side Plymouth Argyle, following the expiry of his deal in Devon.

His addition adds depth and experience to the Club’s goalkeeping department, with Burton having accumulated a number of appearances in Sky Bet League One during his time with the Pilgrims, playing an important role in the club’s promotion during the 2022/23 campaign.

One of his most impressive moments during that campaign came in the semi-finals of the EFL Trophy, as Burton produced a heroic performance in a penalty shoot-out, saving three successive penalties against Cheltenham Town to secure a trip to Wembley.

Prior to his spell in Devon, Burton has also spent time at Hull City, Salford City and Chesterfield, before making the move to Cambridge United.

It is at the Abbey Stadium where he linked up with Wrexham striker Paul Mullin, appearing 25 times during the 2020/21 season, when the U’s claimed second place in Sky Bet League Two.

On signing for Wrexham, Burton said: “I’m really excited to join the Club. I spoke to the Manager, and he told me about the project, and it definitely was the place I wanted to come and play my football.

“The timing of signing couldn’t be better. It’s the perfect time for me to come in and meet all of the lads on the tour and it will be a nice way to settle myself in.

Manager Phil Parkinson said: “Callum’s profile is perfect for what we need to complement our goalkeeping department.

“We’re all really looking forward to working with him over the next two years.”

Sebastian Revan from Aston Villa has also signed for an undisclosed fee, on a contract until 2027.

The left-back arrives at the Club ahead of the Wrex Coast Tour on a three-year deal, with an option to extend his stay at the STōK Cae Ras by an additional year.

Revan, 21, made his competitive debut for Villa in the UEFA Europa Conference League, as they progressed in an emphatic victory at Hibernian.

As an Academy Player, Revan played an integral role in helping Aston Villa lift the FA Youth Cup, in a 2-1 victory against Liverpool.

On signing for Wrexham Revan explained it is the perfect time to join the Club.

“I’m delighted to get the deal done. I can’t wait to get started and show everyone what I can do,” he said.

“It’s going to be a great going to the USA and Canada. I’ll hopefully get some minutes and the opportunity to impress and get my season started.

“I want to help take the Club as high up the table as we can and add both goals and assists to my game and also the team’s.”

He was awarded his first professional contract with Aston Villa in March 2021 and received a call-up to the England Under-18 squad.

Revan played a part in the Premier League Summer Series in the USA, before leaving on loan and making 36 appearances for Rotherham in the EFL Championship.

The defender becomes Phil Parkinson’s fourth addition of the summer, and he believes Revan will be a shrewd acquisition for the Club.

“Seb is a player that stood out for us from his performances in the Championship and he is only going to improve with us,” he said.

“He offers us great versatility because he can play both on the right and the left. He’s a good young player and we’re delighted to have him on board.”

This signing has again been announced via livestream of the club’s new Wrexham Contract Printer – HP Smart Tank.
