Waterworld Car Park Toilets Set For Demolition
Wrexham’s Bodhyfryd site looks set for further change, with an application submitted to demolish the public toilets on Waterworld Car Park.
In an ‘application for prior notification of proposed demolition’, submitted by Mr Stephen Bayley on behalf of Wrexham Council, it is recommended that the current male and female public toilets on the Waterworld Car Park are demolished.
Reasons for this decision are listed in the application, with Mr Bayley writing: “Demolition required to mitigate the ongoing anti-social behaviour issues and significant investment in Henblas Street to provide male, female and disabled toilet facilities (which are not currently available).”
Demolition of the toilets is expected to begin in August 2016, with works estimated to be complete by September 2016.
The application is the latest to have been submitted with regards to the Bodhyfrd site, which forms part of Wrexham’s new ‘Town Centre Masterplan’.
Earlier this week Wrexham.com reported that an application to demolish the former Ebeneser Chapel, also located on Bodhyfryd had been submitted. If approved the site will be used to develop 23 flats over five storeys.
It is not yet known what, if anything, will replace the public toilet facilities on Bodhyfryd.
