Motorbike owners across Wrexham are being urged to make sure their vehicles are secure.

It comes after North Wales Police received more than 60 reports of motorbike thefts in 2023.

According to North Wales Police the Wrexham and Bangor areas saw the most incidents.

Of the thefts recorded, 41 involved smaller capacity engines with 125cc or less.

In most cases, these motorbikes were simply wheeled away from where they had been left by the owner and then later found damaged nearby.

Design Out Crime Officer David Williams said: “We urge motorbike owners to consider the security of their bikes when leaving them unattended.

“Simple steps, such as investing in an approved motorcycle chain and lock, could prevent your motorbike being stolen.”
