Your local policing team have circulated another snapshot to what has been going on in the city over the last 24 hours.

In the latest round up of local policing a “successful visit to Erddig allotments by our Community Safety/ We Don’t Buy Crime team” is highlighted, where SmartWater was distributed to allotment holders following reports of thefts earlier in the year.

They add, “The team will be out again this weekend at the Victoria Road allotments issuing more SmartWater packs, to prevent future allotment holders becoming victims of crime.”

The full update as usual is below:

Evening all 😊,

Doesn’t time fly when you’re having fun, they say!

That certainly has been the case for me. Having the opportunity to lead an amazing team of across the city has been an absolute privilege. But today is my final update before Luke returns back to the office on Monday.

I am pleased to say all is well and crime across the city is down in comparison to the same time period last year by over 20%, and we have the highest positive crime outcome rate across all of North Wales. ✅

👮🏼‍♂️🚔 Yesterday you may have noticed a larger police presence across the city as an operation was in place to target those from Wrexham and Flintshire who had outstanding warrants out for their arrest. As well as Mr Royce and Olsiewicz, the two other males who failed to attend court on Tuesday were also located and brought before the court here in Wrexham.

As well as the operation, other incidents that were reported and officers attended included:

👀 10.30 – Reports of a suspicious van in the area of Caia Park “cold calling”. Patrols made in the area and information shared with Trading Standards. Thank you to the vigilant neighbour keeping an eye out and reporting the matter.

🔪 12.02 – Call from MoneyPenny reporting while conducting a litter pick in the area, a knife was found discarded. Checks against recent crimes and CID officer confirmed that there were no links to any crimes. Knife collected as safely disposed of – thank you for making sure it didn’t get into the wrong hands and keeping the community clean and tidy!

❌ 12.43 – A man known to us is reported to be shoplifting in the Tan Y Dre area.

🍺❌ 14.55 – We were alerted to concerns about a female driver believed to be intoxicated – she was located arrested on suspicion of drink driving and later charged, after providing a sample of breath over three times the drink drive limit. She also had no licence and no insurance from our records and was charged with these offences as well. Drink driving is never acceptable, but at this time of day, when children are leaving school, beggars’ belief!

❗ 15.30 – Report of a male having been assaulted on Rhosddu Road. A suspect has been identified and it appears to be an isolated incident. If you were in the area at the time and witnessed this incident or have dashcam footage please get in touch quoting A087795

🔥 17.30 – Mold Road was closed leaving the city centre due to a house fire – nothing suspicious and thankfully no one casualties.

As this is the last update of the week, that can only mean one thing – it’s the weekend! 🥳

🥕💧 Last weekend, there was a successful visit to Erddig allotments by our Community Safety/ We Don’t Buy Crime team. SMART WATER was distributed to allotments holders following reports of thefts earlier in the year. Have a great weekend.
