Entertainment, craft, artisan foods and good old fashioned family fun are all in store this weekend as Wrexham Town Centre once again plays host to a popular street festival.

Saturday sees the the return of the ever expanding Wrexham Street Festival in the town centre, which promises to be bigger and better than its previous events.

The first Wrexham Street Festival was launched by a team of volunteers in May and was met with a largely positive reception, resulting in a second festival taking place at the end of June. Further festivals have also been planned for October and December.

This month’s street festival will be the third of its kind to take place in the town this year and is part of the ongoing project to help increase footfall and regenerate the heart of Wrexham Town Centre.

The previous two Wrexham Street Festivals have predominantly been centred on Regent Street and Hope Street, which has traditionally been seen at the main shopping artery in the town centre. However as a result of the continuing popularity of the event from both local stakeholders and visitors, this weekend’s festival will see a vast expansion on the previous two, with events and activities for all ages spanning across the streets of the town.

Throughout the course of the day there will be live entertainment, stalls selling local produce and craft, a child’s play area and much more spanning across Hope Street, Regent Street, Henblas Street, and Bank Street.Wrexham’s three indoor markets will also be incorporated into this weekend’s street festival for the first time.

A whole host of local businesses are involved in the event including Emz Cakes Creative Cafe, UnDegUn, Truly Scrumptious Sweets, St Giles Church, Glitterbugz, Piccolo’s to name but a few. Even Wrexham’s sheep are due to make a reappearance for the day!

Wrexham Street Festival will begin at 10am and run through until 5:30pm with stalls and activities taking place throughout the day.

Further information on the local companies involved in the Wrexham Street Festival and more details about the event itself can be found on the official Wrexham Street Festival Facebook Page.
