Police are appealing for information following the ‘inexcusable damage’ caused to seventeen vehicles in Wrexham over the weekend.

Yesterday Wrexham.com reported on the damage caused to seventeen cars in the Bron-Y-Dre area, with vandals slashing the tyres of the vehicles in the area. It is believed the incident took place late on Saturday night / early Sunday morning.

Two police cars attended the scene yesterday morning, with North Wales Police forensic teams working to gather evidence.

The damage ranged from vehicles having one car tyre damaged, while others appear to have had damage caused to multiple tyres.

One person commented on Facebook yesterday describing the incident as a ‘brainless act of vandalism’, while another described those responsible for causing the damage as ‘mindless idiots’

CCTV footage of the parking area is currently being analysed by North Wales Police to identify the person or persons involved with the incident.

We have been told by Town Centre Inspector Paul Wycherley that one vehicle that was damaged belongs to someone with mobility issues, who cannot use the vehicle due to the tyres being damaged.

Inspector Wycherley said: “We are aware that a number of vehicles have been damaged in this area. We are asking members of the public for assistance in finding who is responsible for this mindless and wanton damage.

“Please consider if it was a relative of yours who had been affected. Someone must know who has done this.”

Anyone with any information is advised to contact North Wales Police. Alternatively, individuals with information can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
