Two Sentenced For Wrexham Burglary Offence
Two men have today been sentenced after pleading guilty to a burglary offence in Wrexham.
Andrew Sumner and Anthony White appeared today in Mold Crown Court and pleaded guilty to a burglary offence committed in the Wrexham area, last month. Both suspects had only recently been released from custody.
Anthony White was sentenced to 20 months and Andrew Sumner was sentenced to two years and five months.
Detective Inspector Neil Harrison said: “I welcome the sentences passed today, both Sumner and White had only recently been released from custody and quickly returned to criminality, committing burglary. It was with the assistance of members of the public that Sumner and White were caught in the act of carrying out this offence and it demonstrates how such assistance can frustrate the activities of criminals and prevent further victims. The fact that both are now in custody will prevent further offences and safeguard the community of Wrexham.
“It is vital that the public report suspicious circumstances to the police in order that these can be responded to quickly and as this case highlights, allows those involved in criminality to be detained at the earliest opportunity.”
