Around 6:30pm tonight a two car incident closed the the A483 southbound by the Gresford Roundabout, with one seen to be going the wrong way on the road.

This evening we have been told a red Rover car was travelling on the Gresford Roundabout, indicating to turn left, headed under the bypass towards the turn off for Gresford and taken the first left up the slip road rather than proceeding onwards.

The turn off occurred at this junction pictured from Google Streetview, with the crash occurring further down on the Gresford hill on the bypass itself:

Hannah told us: “I stopped and beeped and two cars coming off stopped and beeped but he kept going. I pulled over and rang police immediately.”

Jessica told us earlier: “I didn’t see it happen but the red Rover was facing the wrong way with a lot of damage to the drivers side.”

The incident left one car next to the crash barrier and another on hard shoulder on the bypass itself.

Due to the incident traffic was backed up southbound from the Rossett interchange to the scene of the accident.

Chanel sent us the above picture from the traffic queue behind as emergency services responded.

Two people were taken to hospital with minor injuries.

UPDATE 8pm: We are told the road has reopened, however have been unable to confirm details of the incident with North Wales Police, nor the condition of those involved.
