Two people were arrested in Wrexham overnight on suspicion of drink/drug driving offences.

Shortly before midnight officers from NWP Wrexham Rural arrested a male in the Rhosrobin area after he failed a roadside breath test.

A spokesperson for the force confirmed that the male will be “charged to court when sober”.

Hours later at around 3:30am officers stopped a car on the A5 in Chirk “due to the manner it was being driven”.

The spokesperson added: “The driver tested positive on a roadside drug wipe for Cannabis and was arrested.

“He now faces a wait over Christmas whilst waiting for the toxicology report from his blood sample to be returned.”
