Trainee solicitors who met at law school qualify as solicitors in Wrexham firm

Two women from North Wales who met on their first day at law school have been admitted as solicitors after completing their training at the same Wrexham law firm.

Harriet Roberts and Ruby Williams both studied for the Graduate Diploma of Law and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law’s Christleton campus in Chester.

They both joined GHP Legal in 2021 as paralegals before embarking on the firm’s solicitor training programme a year later.

GHP Legal, which has offices on Grosvenor Road in Wrexham, is a long-time supporter of the solicitor training programme, which is designed to enable trainees to understand the practical implications of law and develop the skills they will need as solicitors.

The firm has trained more than one hundred new solicitors since its inception. Being a multi-disciplinary law firm makes it an ideal training partner as trainees are able to complete a number of seats, rotating through various different departments and teams to gain experience across a wide range of legal specialisms.

Since being admitted as a solicitor Ruby has become a member of the GHP Legal Dispute Resolution team dealing mainly with civil issues and contentious probate.

Harriet is a solicitor in the firm’s private client department where her caseload includes wills, lasting powers of attorney and probate matters.

Both are based in the firm’s Wrexham head office.

Congratulating Harriet and Ruby on being admitted as solicitors, GHP Legal Training Partner, Nathan Wright, said: “Ruby and Harriet showed promise very early on in their time with the firm and it was clear that their intelligence combined with ability to apply the law practically and efficiently meant they would make the transition from trainee to qualified solicitors with ease.
