Tercero sponsors Bellevue FC as Tennessee business owner ‘falls in love with Wrexham’

Tercero, a property redevelopment company with an American owner from Tennessee who discovered Bellevue FC, has been unveiled as a club sponsor.

Based at Court Road, Bellevue Football Club is Wales’ first and award winning, league registered, multi-ethnic and inclusion specific football club, offering competitive football opportunities to people from perceived adverse backgrounds and people from backgrounds of social poverty who have faced barriers in sport participation.

They promote community cohesion and social integration as a means of achieving true equality and diversity, both within football, and within society. The club is run entirely by volunteers on a not for profit basis.

They have announced their new kit, “Much has been written about the impact of the famous club takeover and how Wrexham has become a global brand, with some international brands even offering the opportunity to ‘Win a trip to Wrexham’ – didn’t see that on the ‘what happens next in Wrexham’ bingo card, but we’re all for it! We know what a special place Wrexham is, and are glad the rest of the world is now finding out!

“Back in April, we put an early call out for sponsors looking forward to the 24/25 as unfortunately due to not being able to find adequate sponsorship for that season, some of our teams have been playing in kits from the previous season – we were keen to avoid having to do something similar next season.

“We have waffled on a bit but don’t worry we’ll get to the point shortly – fast forward a few days and we were contacted by a new Wrexham company called Tercero who have an American owner from Tennessee.

“Having watched Welcome to Wrexham the company founder fell in love with Wrexham, and in doing so learned more about our home, founded Tercero (a property redevelopment firm focussed on Wrexham City Centre)… and discovered Bellevue FC!

“Following several conversations it became clear that both our American friends and club hold similar values – the perfect relationship!

“Our club motto being ‘un clwb, un bobl, unedig’ (one club, one people united) it’s great to hear that we have now expanded our fan base and friends across the pond all the way to the USA!

“We can now announce that for the 2024/25 season Tercero will be the sponsor of 4 Bellevue FC kits!”

“The shirts are an update of the most popular former kits of our players and feature the American flag and Draig Goch on the sleeve noting our friendship and shared values.

Club Trustee Evrah Rose added, “In watching the news or spending time on social media, it’s easy to feel like the whole world is divided-so it’s great to be able to share this good news story about how our local inclusive team has been helped not only financially, but also in discovering that despite our new friends being over 4,000 miles away, they share our values, respect and belief in what we are doing.”

Delwyn ‘Sheep’ Derrick, the founder of Bellevue FC said, “This is a huge moment in our clubs story. We can say with some certainty that there won’t be end of season trips to Las Vegas, or preseason tours of the United States, but this collaboration is about showing that even with an ocean between us, we are one club, one people and we are united.

“If you’d have told me eight years ago that I’d be here today commenting on our new sponsor, I’d have laughed for a week, but this is the true Rob and Ryan effect, the things you don’t see on the documentary that genuinely change lives. We are humbled and incredibly grateful to Tercero.”
