Local residents have enjoyed a fun day hosted by ClwydAlyn Housing Association.

The event was held at Wrexham Rugby Club on Sunday, August 14, and celebrated being a ClwydAlyn tenant.

Members of the Housing Association’s Sport and Social (SAS) team, pulled together to create a fun day out for all the family, with the aim to bring together its tenants and working teams while giving residents an opportunity to meet the teams providing housing, repairs as well as other services.

The day included food and ice cream, face painting and caricature, giant inflatables, an entertainment circus, and advice stands from the Resident and Community Involvement Team as well as representatives from ClwydAlyn’s Resident Committee.

Also in attendance was TPAS Cymru, Warm Wales, North Wales Police and North Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

ClwydAlyn Chief Executive, Clare Budden said: “It has been great to be able to organise such a great, feel-good event to celebrate our tenants here at ClwydAlyn, we value each and every one of them and this day gave us a chance to meet them and offer them a fun filled day for all to enjoy.

“The day was packed with activities to suit all, from bingo and live music to inflatable agility courses and circus training. There really was something for everyone, and I’m thankful to all the staff and our partners who gave their time to make the day a special one.”

For those residents who didn’t have a means of transport to the event, ClwydAlyn also arranged free transport from pick up points located near its Extra Care/Care homes. Giving everyone the chance to attend the fun day.

Lorraine Orger, Governance & Complaints Manager and SAS team member at ClwydAlyn added: “All of us from the SAS team have had a lot of fun arranging the Fun Fest for our residents. There was a great resident turnout of people of all ages on the day and it looked like everyone had a great time.

“I would like to thank everyone who came and to all our partners who helped make the day a success, with a special thank you going to Wrexham Rugby Club who allowed us to use the field as well as help out with refreshments throughout the day.

“The best part of the day for me was the water fight we had with the kids at the end of the day, and I’m already looking forward to our re-match!”

Clare Budden said: “The last few years have been a challenge for us all and this event was the perfect opportunity to bring people together from across North Wales and show them what ClwydAlyn is all about, hope trust and kindness.”
