Wrexham town centre was alive with gruesome surprises and scary goings on today as Halloween celebrations took over.

Hundreds of witches, skeletons, mummies and shoppers flocked to the town centre today to enjoy the free Halloween activities taking place in the town.

Kicking off at 10am this morning the Wrexham Street Festival began in full swing, with a trick or treat trail taking place in shops across the town, along with a host of free activities in Wrexham’s three indoor markets.

On Henblas Street large crowds gathered at the old TJ Hughes building to watch tree carver Simon O’Rourke carve a face into a ceda pumpkin.

The pumpkin will be displayed in the Grosvenor Garden Centre for the next two weeks before being auctioned off – with all profits going to Nightingale House Hospice!

Elsewhere in the town centre there was live music and entertainment throughout the day on Queen’s Square – along with a host of stalls selling everything from paella, homemade crafts, cakes and much more!

More information about the next Wrexham Street Festival can be found here.
