Six-year-old from Wrexham to take on bike ride challenge for charity

A six-year-old from Wrexham has raised more than £1,000 for charity ahead of a bike ride challenge this weekend.

Ieuan will be cycling from his home in Llay to the top of Hope Mountain and back again on Saturday 16th May – with a detour through the local park to complete the 14 mile distance.

He decided to set himself the challenge to help raise money and support charities during the coronavirus pandemic.

Initially Ieuan aimed to raise £600 for for Nightingale House Hospice, Hope House and Wales Air Ambulance. But he has already surpassed that, with donations so far exceeding £1,000.

His mum, Lindzey, said: “He decided for himself that in the midst of the pandemic he would like to help raise money for the chosen charities by completing the 14 mile bike ride.

“After a Facebook poll Nightingale and Hope House were the ones that most people recommended and Wales Air Ambulance because Ieuan and his dad do a lot of walking and mountain biking and he has seen the work they do at several events which inspired him to want to raise money for them.

“Please help a little boy’s by giving a small amount to help him reach his target.”
