Positive results tackling motorbike theft but “increase in residential burglaries” say local police

Local police have detailed a ‘busy week’ for officers.

The latest update from last Wednesday to today states there were 271 incidents recorded and 38 arrests.

You local policing team say, “It has been a very busy week for Wrexham Officers, these are some of the incidents attended by Wrexham Town Officers and Neighbourhood policing team this week.

“There have been multiple arrests ranging from, Warrants for failing to attend court, Recalls to prison, drink driving, shoplifting, Domestic assaults, affray ( fighting), drug possession, to name a few.

“Officers have dealt with many incidents over the week and have had cause to work closely with the fire service and the ambulance service.

“Proactive patrols are always being carried out in town centre, for engagement and crime prevention”

“Also catching those in the act, Andrew Roberts has been arrested for theft after being detained by officers on bikes and charged with multiple offences and remanded in custody to appear before the first available court.”

Officers say there has been an increase in motor bike thefts “…but thanks to members of the public there have been some very positive results” pointing to three bikes recovered after incidents on Fairy Road, Edward Street and Trevor Street.

However they added, “Unfortunately there has been an increase in residential burglaries in the area” with incidents on Gernant, Aston Grove and Box Lane.

There was also a ‘theft of a high value car” from Lytham Court reported on the 19th June, “The theft is thought to have taken place early hours of the 19th.”
