Police Appeal Following Incident In Penycae

Police inquiries are continuing this morning following an incident during the early hours of this morning where five males were seen trying doors, windows of properties and car doors in the Maes Y Nant area of Penycae, Wrexham.

The five individuals are described as being in their late teens to early 20’s and had their faces covered; two of them with hoods and others with scarves. They were in the area at around 3am and left after being disturbed. The five are believed to have got into two vehicles, a pick-up van which had an open back and another vehicle.

There have been no reports of burglaries or thefts in the Penycae area overnight.

Police were alerted to the incident just after 8am this morning and inquiries – including house to house are continuing. CCTV will also be studied as part of the inquiries.

Officers urge anyone who has information or who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the Penycae area during the early hours of this morning to contact officers at Rhos on 101. Similarly, police appeal to anyone who witnesses any crime in progress to call officers on 999 immediately.
