Staff at a local pub have celebrated their grand reopening after undergoing a major refurbishment.

Work at The Cross Foxes, in Pentre Broughton, was carried out in just three weeks with the team working hard behind the scenes to get the pub back up and running.

Owned by Admiral Taverns and Proper Pubs, £165,000 was invested into the renovation project.

Member of Parliament for Clwyd South, Simon Baynes MP, recently joined Bryn Cefn County Cllr Beverley Parry-Jones on a visit to The Cross Foxes ‘cut the ribbon’ for the newly-refurbished pub.

Simon Baynes MP and County Cllr Beverley Parry-Jones met with Manager, Nina O’Callaghan, and the rest of the Cross Foxes team, including Gareth Jennings (Operations Manager for Proper Pubs), Mark Knibbs (Business Development Manager for Proper Pubs) and Jan Walker during which he praised the team for renovating the pub in just three weeks.

During the visit, Mr Baynes heard about the importance of the pub to the wider community in Pentre Broughton and some of their plans for the near future, including an initiative by Proper Pubs to supply every one of their community pubs with a defibrillator.

Catering at the pub is provided by Eat With Kev. Recently, the Cross Foxes provided food for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations locally.

Simon Baynes MP said: “I was honoured and delighted to be asked to open the newly-refurbished Cross Foxes in Pentre Broughton. During my visit, I was struck by their emphasis on supporting the local community and providing top-quality food at a reasonable price.

“It was great to meet the Manager, Nina O’Callaghan, and the rest of the Cross Foxes team, and I was similarly impressed to see the renovations made to the pub interior.

“Their plans for the future, including Proper Pubs’ initiative to supply every community pub with a defibrillator, have my full support and that of the local County Cllr Beverley Parry-Jones.

“The Cross Foxes is well worth a visit.”
