Parents are guardians are being urged to park responsibly during school drop off and pick up times.

Officers from the Offa and Esclusham neighbourhood policing team will be visiting schools in the area in the coming weeks to help ensure that all residents are aware of the rules around parking.

Issues at school drop off and pick up times across the county borough have been well documented, with complaints over inconsiderate and inappropriate parking causing issues for residents and for motorists.

There have also been repeated concerns about child safety when pavements have been parked on or areas around schools are particularly congested with vehicles.

Police are now reminding residents not to park on zig-zag lines, on double yellow lines, on a single yellow line when restrictions apply, blocking driveways or dropped kerbs or on the pavement obstructing access.

In a post on social media, NWP Wrexham Town said: “The Offa and Esclusham neighbourhood policing team have been working towards ensuring that all residents are aware of the rules around parking, especially when picking up and dropping off their children at school.

“Over the next few weeks we will be attending at local schools within the Offa and Esclusham area reminding and enforcing those who continue to park dangerously and cause obstructions.”

A series of posters have also been created in partnership with PACT reminding residents of the rules when parking their vehicles.
