Over £600 worth of perfume has been stolen from a major retailer in Wrexham.

In his daily police update, Insp Luke Hughes said the incident at a “large chemist in Plas Coch shopping area” took place at 10:06am yesterday.

A lone male reportedly entered the premises and stole perfume “to the value of £650.”

Insp Hughes said: “As mentioned previously this is a national issue with organised criminals travelling around the UK and stealing large volumes of perfume / alcohol and other items to be resold.

“I had a conversation last week with another department who have kindly agreed to support our Christmas retail crime initiative, with plain clothes officers to target this sort of crime and also focus on some of the local repeat offenders.

Morning All

I thought I would try and get your update to you early today after last night’s late update.

I`m still in HQ Colwyn Bay, but whilst walking in today I have spotted a rather fetching fully marked Tesla in the carpark.

I understand it’s on trial for a short time – I doubt it will be coming to Wrexham any time soon, unless I can swap it for my electric Corsa without fleet noticing.

Quick update for you as below, thankfully burglary remains low and I’m really grateful for your vigilance and reports of suspicious activity, having eyes and ears in the community is the backbone of community policing, we all have to work together and support each other. Wrexham has a great sense of community and together we can keep our community safe.

07:44hrs: Report of criminal damage to a property in Glan Gors – window damaged – two bricks recovered at the scene.

NPT have attended and offered reassurance. So frustrating and so pointless.

09:34hrs: Report of a male having been assisted back into an electric wheelchair by good Samaritan on Chester road – general concerns raised for the welfare of the male – officers attend and offer support.

11:19hrs: Late reporting of stolen wheely bin – Gwenfro – looks likely that it met its demise on Bonfire night.

13:41hrs: Concern for a neighbour who has not been seen for a while – officers attend and find the lady has passed away, sad incident for all involved but no suggestion of criminal activity. – RIP

15:52hrs: Damage noted on a door at a property on Boston gate – caller concerned that it may be an attempt to gain entry – officer will be attending to offer reassurance and review.

17:00hrs: Officers attend another sudden death – elderly female – again no suggestion of criminal activity but officers act on behalf of the corner in such matters. RIP

20:42hrs: Report of missing 14 year old female – returned safe & well.

00:14hrs: Male seen acting suspiciously in Eagles Meadow – officers attend and he has a wanted marker for burglary in the West Mercia police area – arrested – great spot and potentially prevented some local crime.

That’s all for now, Mike is back in the office today and he will keep you updated in the event of anything significant happening.

Take care all

Luke
