Following a series of arrests conducted in Wrexham on Wednesday 28th October North Wales Police ‘Operation Scorpion’ team have arrested and charged a further person.

A 32-year-old man from the Wrexham area, arrested during the evening of Tuesday 3rd November and has been charged with conspiracy to commit GBH (Grievous bodily harm) and conspiracy to commit criminal damage and conspiracy to commit arson.

He was refused bail and will appear before local magistrates sitting at Mold on Thursday 5th November.

The arrest follows a series of raids in the Wrexham area last week, which resulted in three men being charged for several offences.

The raids and arrests come as a result of ‘Operation Scorpion’ – a North Wales Police Operation which fights against serious and organised crime.

DI Arwyn Jones who is leading the investigation said, “The investigation is very much on-going and further arrests are planned. I am also very keen to hear from anyone in the community who can assist our investigation as we continue to target those in our communities who cause the most harm.

“We have made great strides in reducing incidents of violence in the region and with help from the community and I’m sure we can continue to do so and make our streets safer. The investigation into serious and organised crime groups will continue and I’d ask that anyone with information regarding those they think involved then contact North Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Alternatively, contact the control room direct via the new web live chat http://www.north-wales.police.uk/contact/chat-support.aspx”
