An initiative to provide survivors of domestic abuse with care packages this Christmas is rolling out across Wrexham.

Operation Liberty, now in its third year, aims to raise awareness of domestic abuse in communities across the county borough.

It provides vital care packages to adults and children who are forced to flee their homes to escape domestic violence or controlling and coercive behaviour.

Officers from NWP Wrexham Town and NWP Wrexham Rural are collecting donations from local communities which consist of unused/new condition items such as health and beauty items, toys, books, pyjamas, colouring and craft items.

These items will then be put into care packages and distributed by officers who are attending at Domestic Abuse incidents over Christmas.

PCSO Griffiths-Hughes will be at Home Bargains in Gwersyllt until midday today (23 November accepting donations).

More dates and locations will be announced in the coming weeks.
