‘Operation Lampoon’ sees increased patrols to tackle antisocial behaviour in Gwersyllt
Increased police patrols have taken place in Gwersyllt amid a rise in reports of antisocial behaviour.
As part of Operation Lampoon, a proactive initiative in Wrexham Rural, officers and PCSOs have been targeting known areas of antisocial behaviour.
On Thursday (20 December) patrols took place in the Gwersyllt area following a rise in reports of antisocial behaviour and shoplifting.
A spokesperson for NWP Wrexham Rural said: “Op Lampoon is a proactive operation ran in Wrexham Rural utilising an increased number of officers and PCSO’s to target known areas of ASB.
“This afternoon the operation was ran in the Gwersyllt area following an increase in reports of ASB and shoplifting.
“So far it has been a success with no reports of ASB or shopliftings and a positive stop search, one male will be dealt with for possession of a controlled substance.
“The Op will continue into 2024 and will be deployed across all areas in Wrexham Rural.”
