Wrexham AFC are delighted to announce the permanent signing of centre forward Jack Marriott, for an undisclosed fee.

The Beverley-born striker arrives at the STōK Cae Ras on a deal which will keep him with North Wales until the end of the 2024/25 season.

Marriott, 29, won the EFL Sky Bet League One Golden Boot award whilst at Peterborough United, and is set to bolster the attacking options at the Club.

On signing for Wrexham, he said: “I’m really pleased to be here and happy to get the deal over the line.

“The club’s performances, the way they play as a team is a real key factor for me signing and the trajectory that the Club is going in is something that I want to be involved in and I’m absolutely delighted to be here.”

He began his football career through the youth ranks at Ipswich Town, before making his professional debut for the club against Burnley in 2013.

The forward then departed Portman Road and moved on to Luton Town, where he won both their young player and player of the season awards, as well as becoming their top scorer in his first year with the Hatters.

His success at Kenilworth Road saw him join Peterborough United and his time there included more individual honours, such as featuring in the PFA Team of the Year after scoring 27 goals in Sky Bet League One for the Posh during the 2017-18 campaign.

Marriott also secured Derby County a place in the 2019 Championship Play-Off Final after scoring two crucial goals in the semi-final against Leeds United.

Since departing Pride Park, he returned to the Posh on a three-year deal, before signing for Fleetwood Town in January 2023.

On his signing, manager Phil Parkinson added: “We’re really pleased to bring Jack to the Club. He’s got proven experience at a higher level and comes to us looking to make a real contribution in our second half of the season.”

This is the second signing announced today, with one more rumoured for later…
