A new digital advertisement board could soon be installed in Wrexham city centre.
An application has been submitted to introduce a 2m by 1m display on the High Street.
If approved the digital board would replace the existing outdoor city centre map board, located outside the former Nationwide.
The applicants state that the fixture would be a “double-sided display poster to promote local businesses in Wrexham.”
They add that the digital board will help to share key information on events and promotions to target the day time and night time economy.
Further information submitted alongside the application states that the digital board is weatherproof, vandal proof, have anti-reflective glass and are easy to maintain.
If approved the digital board will be one of several changes to take place in that area of the city centre.
Earlier this week Wrexham Council announced that major works to regenerate the street and surrounding area is underway.
The regeneration will see significant changes made to the High Street, Yorke Street, Town Hill and Abbot Street.
These include the installation of new paving blocks and granite kerbing – along with the creation of green spaces and tree planting.
New street furniture will also be installed to help boost local hospitality businesses.
One of the biggest changes is the pedestrianisation of Yorke Street, High Street, Town Hill and Abbot Street.
The application for the digital board will be considered for approval by Wrexham Council at a later date.
