Man Who Died In Crash Near Chirk Named

A man who died in a fatal collision on the A5 near Chirk last week has been named.

The male has been named as 35-year-old Andrew Hughes.

An appeal for anyone with information regarding the fatal collision to come forward.

A statement released by West Mercia Police says: “Police were called at 9.40am after a collision between a Citreon Berlingo van and a HGV near the Glendrid Roundabout in the direction of the Mile End roundabout in Chirk, Wrexham on Wednesday 17th December.

“A 35-year-old man was confirmed deceased at the scene.”

Police are appealing for witnesses and urge anyone who may have any further information to contact the non-emergency number 101 and quote the incident reference 133s of the 17th December.
