“Items thrown” at police vehicle during pursuit in Wrexham
A vehicle involved in a police pursuit in Wrexham was found abandoned last night after being crashed into a road sign.
Officers from NWP Intercept Team approached the vehicle was was “sighted in suspicious circumstances”.
However the vehicle reportedly made off at speed and during a pursuit the occupants “threw items” at the pursuing police vehicle.
A statement released by NWP Intercept Team, said: “Officers sighted this vehicle last night in the Wrexham area in suspicious circumstances and the occupants weren’t keen on speaking to our team.
“The vehicle made off at speed and during a pursuit it made contact with the police vehicle and threw items at the pursuing police vehicle.
“Unfortunately, the vehicle was located crashed into a road sign and abandoned nearby.
Over to our crime scene investigators now to examine the vehicle and we will hopefully be knocking on some doors soon.
“The police vehicle is poorly but thankfully both officers are ok and will be back in work later.”
