Huge crowds expected to enjoy festivities at Wrexham’s Victorian Christmas Market!
The streets of Wrexham city centre will be full of festive cheer this week with the return of the Victorian Christmas Market.
Seen as a staple event in the city’s yuletide celebrations, visitors can expect to enjoy live entertainment and shop at around 100 stalls on Thursday 7 December.
The annual one-day event brings thousands thousands of shoppers and visitors to the city centre – with Thursday’s event expected to be no different.
Between midday and 8pm stalls selling everything including food, drink, art, baked goods and festive gifts will be lining the streets between Queens Square through to St Giles Church.
On Queens Square there will be a traditional carousel, ferris wheel and stalls such as a Coconut Shy and the chance to test your strength on the hammer machine.
Throughout the day there will be street performers and entertainers with traditional Victorian organ performers, Punch and July and roaming street entertainers such as Queen Victoria, chimney sweeps and everyone’s favourite pickpockets.
Make sure to keep an eye out for jugglers, stilt walkers and a performance from the City of Wrexham Brass Band later in the day!
Cllr Nigel Williams, Lead Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: “The Victorian Market is a much anticipated event that brings thousands of visitors from Wrexham and across the region into Wrexham.
“This year the organisers have put together an amazing array of stalls and entertainment that everyone can enjoy and I’d like to thank them all for their commitment to making this an event to remember.”
The Victorian Christmas Market will take place in Wrexham city centre on Thursday 7 December between midday and 8pm.
