Community clubs and organisations in Wrexham can apply for funding for sporting activities in their area.

Active Wrexham is providing a grant of up to £1,000 to help create active links in schools and communities across Wrexham.

The grant could be used for coach education, purchasing new equipment, facility hire or to deliver sessions in schools and support our schools well being programmes.

Active Wrexham focuses on creating and supporting opportunities within schools and communities for more people to be more active through a person-centred approach and also support the development of local clubs and volunteers to deliver high quality physical activity.

Cllr Phil Wynn, Lead Member for Education, said: “We know there are lots of sports groups and clubs out there who I am sure would love to work with our team and offer their expertise and help to our schools as part of their well-being programmes.

“Please get in touch and find out how to apply for the grant and how it could benefit a larger group of people.”
