Wrexham.com for people living in or visiting the Wrexham area

Yesterday we tweeted regarding an email we had sent earlier in the month to GoSafe, and are pleased to say we have had a reply.

Our query mentioned that on GoSafe.org , the ‘safety camera partnership’ website, there were a few mobile sites not mentioned. The map for Wrexham is viewable by clicking here.

GoSafe have told us that they are “very sorry that the mobile site is not displayed on the GoSafe website. Our website is maintained by a third party and they will update it periodically.”

They also provided a list of mobile sites around Wrexham:

  • Ty Gwyn Lane.
  • B4500 Pontfadog.
  • A525 Marchwiel.
  • A539 Llangollen Road, Acrefair.
  • A534 Holt Road, Wrexham.
  • A539 Penley.
  • B5130 Isycoed.

Details of the mobile camera use can be found on the GoSafe website here, which interestingly states the operators judge speeds then operate the equipment:  “Once they form the opinion that the vehicle is exceeding the speed limit, they use the equipment as described below, in order to confirm this suspicion and record it for a prosecution to proceed“.

There is per-camera data on the website, however for Wrexham it is either out of date or thin on the ground.

The camera on Mold Road has the most data for the town but appears to be last collected in 2002 – 10 years ago:
