Go Vote! (…and don’t forget your photo ID!)

Thousands of voters across Wrexham head will head to the polls throughout the day to have their say in the General Election elections – polls are open 7am to 10pm.

Many will be voting for the slightly tweaked Wrexham constituency, whereas others may find themselves somewhere new – likely Montgomeryshire and Glyndŵr.

You can view a zoomable map here on OrdnanceSurvey.co.uk with the new boundaries to see if you are in Wrexham or a new constituency.

Today those voting in person will be required by law to have photo ID. The name on your ID must match the name on the electoral register. You can still use your photo ID if it’s out of date, as long as it looks like you. (More info here).

Polling stations come in all shapes and sizes, including schools, church halls and community centres.

The polls will open at 7am on Thursday and close at 10pm, with a full list of places where you can vote detailed below.

People who have registered to vote will have been sent a polling card which states the polling station they should go to.
