Glyndwr Uni Launches Employability Work Placement Scheme
Students’ prospects of finding work in an increasingly tough graduate employment market are being given a boost by a new scheme where they can work for their own university while studying.
Glyndŵr University has launched its employability work placement scheme for students beginning their undergraduate degree as a full time student in September 2013.
Paid placements of up to 50 days a year will be available to successful applicants. The placements will cover a range of roles in finance, marketing and design, events and social media, IT and app design, careers and entrepreneurship. The placements are designed to complement study and give real-life projects to work on and showcase on students’ CVs.
Professor Michael Scott, Vice-Chancellor for Glyndŵr University, said: “At Glyndwr University we do things differently. We want our students to get ahead in the job market, and this placement scheme is another way to get relevant experience whilst studying.
We want our students to have the best possible university experience, befitting to them. Different students want different experiences, work experience, placements abroad, part-time study, shorter degrees and as a University we are evolving to offer flexibility but never at the expense of quality.”
Andy Phillips, Admissions & Enquiries said: “This scheme is hoped to provide yet another reason to apply to Glyndwr University – giving students the opportunity to gain very valuable paid work experience and providing university departments with valuable team members.”
Details of the placements and how to apply are available now on the Glyndwr University website,www.glyndwr.co.uk
