Wrexham.com for people living in or visiting the Wrexham area

An event packed full of activities and entertainment will take place in Bellevue Park on tomorrow!

The free to attend Wrexham City Carnival, organised by Fair Events Management Ltd and in partnership with Offa Community Council, will be held between 10am and 4pm.

Throughout the day visitors can enjoy back to back music, fairground rides, street food, independent traders and Cardboard City – Box Fort Building!

There will also be falconry (12pm and 2pm), Savage Skills Stunt shows (10:30am / 12:30pm / 2:30pm, Delta Dance performances (2:30pm) and a Wrestling Show (11:15am / 1:15pm / 3:15pm).

Music will also be provided by Clwydog Steel Pans, Danny Gruff, The Cheesecutters, The Factory Hens and SuperFLy.

In a HUGE addition – if weather permits – there will hot air balloons with the impressive inflation taking place through the day and hopefully a flight in the evening.

Visitors are asked not to bring their own alcohol or glass, however picnics are allowed.

Fair Event said: “The event is in Partnership with Offa Community Council and is replacing the Offa community Carnival with the new branding to encompass the whole of the Wrexham City.

“The events team within the council have support us fully with this move.

“We have worked with them to ensure the carnival is sustainable and will continue for many years in support with them.

“We ensured that after the committee were struggling with volunteers we have made sure Offa community had a carnival once again and it grows to offer more free activities within Bellevue.”

The Wrexham City Carnival will be followed by the first ever Wrexham Proms in the Park.

Taking place in Bellevue Park from 5pm, tomorrow’s event is the perfect way to introduce the world of orchestral music to children in a relaxed environment with no expectations to stay still or be quiet.

Presented in a fun and informative way, NEW Sinfonia feature 66 talented musicians coming together to create music chosen specifically for families.

Expect to hear familiar songs from the likes of Disney, Harry Potter, Star Wars and much more!

Children are being encouraged to dress up as their favourite character and they may even have the chance to conduct!

An event spokesperson said: “For many children, this will be their first experience of encountering a live orchestra, and hearing all the different instruments play their favourite film themes will create core family memories to be treasured forever.

“We welcome you to sing, dance and move around whilst enjoying well known film music and enjoy the added special effects that will complement the music.

“Different from traditional orchestral proms concerts, we have carefully selected music to engage and inspire the younger generation.

“We encourage everyone to get involved by singing along with the songs they know and dancing.”

Also on off will be a traditional fairground, street food, an onsite bar and local traders.

No alcohol or glass can be brought in but picnics are allowed.

Deck chairs can be hired for £5.

Wrexham Proms in the Park is free but tickets need to be allocated as there is a capacity limit for the venue.

People are welcome to turn up on the evening but organisers strongly advise booking in advance to guarantee a place.

Both events have been supported by UK Shared Prosperity, Fair Event, Wrexham Council and Wrexham City of Culture.
