“Fear not people of Wrexham” – KFC will return

Wrexham.com for people living in or visiting the Wrexham area

Wrexham residents had their feathers ruffled with one of the busiest KFC’s in Europe* being closed.

However there is no fowl play with the restaurant having a refurbishment rather than permanently kicking the bucket, and is set to reopen on the 11th of October.

Currently the restaurant is closed for building work, with windows covered and doors locked to hide the Colonel’s magic taking place within.

A KFC spokesperson told Wrexham.com, “Fear not people of Wrexham!

“We’re just giving our Wrexham restaurant a well-deserved makeover.

“We’ll be back at the fryers and serving fans our delicious fried chicken soon.”

They added, “In the meantime, you can head down to our Mold or Oswestry branches for a little finger lickin’ fix.”

KFC is of course famed for it’s famed 11 herbs and spices recipes, and there have long been calls locally for a drive-thru restaurant.

(* We believe this unconfirmed stat is based off the size / volume per square foot – as we reported in 2012 the restaurant doubled in size)
