Details of Wrexham’s Remembrance Service & Parade Announced

A service and parade to commemorate Remembrance Sunday will take place in Wrexham this weekend.

On Sunday 8th November the annual service of remembrance will take place at the RWF Memorial, Bodhyfryd in Wrexham Town Centre.

The service will take place at 11am – with a parade leaving the Hightown Barracks at 10:15am before marking through the town centre to arrive at the Bodhyfryd for the 11am service.

The service will end at 11:30am and the parade will march back to the Barracks.

Due to the parade barriers will be put up at 10.30am. at the following locations to allow the parade to pass safely and secure the surrounding area – Chester Street (adjacent to the former Feathers Public House), Holt Street (by the Welch Fusilier Public House) and Chester Road (near the Chester Road/Powell Road roundabout). Vehicular access to Waterworld Car Park will therefore be unavailable after 10.30am

On Wednesday 11th November a two minute silence to commemorate Armistice Day will be held from 11am on Queens Square.

Details on the Wrexham Council website state: “At 10.59am. a bugler will sound the “Last Post”, a Wartime Air Raid Siren will sound and the Two Minute Silence will be observed at 11.00am. A bugler will then play “Reveille”, following the conclusion of the two-minute silence.”
