Update 3PM: DAB services in the city centre appear to be working again, with the outage first reported 12:16PM.

Original information below…

Some radio services in the Wrexham area are unavailable this afternoon, due to an issue with the transmitter in Rhos.

Commercial and BBC National DAB radio services went offline around lunchtime ‘due to a fault’ with the Wrexham Rhos transmitter.

FM and other radio services appear unaffected.

DAB services are provided from a number of transmitters working together, with other local transmitters appearing unaffected by the outage.

Digital Audio Broadcast, (DAB) Radio uses digital technology rather than older analogue services to provide radio.

No reason for the fault has been provided, nor timeline for a fix, however snow has hit the area of the transmitter.
