The Racecourse could be immortalised in Lego if a new idea gets enough support.

Campaign organiser Joel, “Now rising to new levels of popularity and fame thanks to the Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney buying the club, and the Emmy winning docu-series ‘Welcome To Wrexham’, I believe the Stadium deserves a spot in the fans’ homes.

“I’ve lived just down the road from Wrexham for a couple years now, and I have enjoyed following the team’s rise into League 1 and the positivity flowing into the town. Going to watch the games in the grounds or in The Turf, there is always good times and cheerful people. I think it is time the people of Wrexham get to have their favourite club on display at home.

“I hope you support this project, it means a lot to me and I’m sure it would mean a lot to many, many more.”

Lego say it usually can take up to several years for a project idea to get enough traction before an ‘expert’ assesses it, after 10,000 people support an idea.

At that point the creator collaborates with Lego designers to finalise the set and get it ready for the store shelves.

The project idea has already been well received and you can show your support on this Wrexham AFC Lego Ideas page.

(Top pic, what the Wrexham Racecourse Lego set could look like. Incidentally it is also a 1:1 scale of the Deva ‘stadium’ in Flintshire affectionately known as ‘legoland’.
