Bradley playgroup celebrating after £5,200 boost from Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund
A local playgroup is celebrating after being awarded more than £5,200 from the Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund.
Bradley Playgroup and Toddlers, based on Glanllyn Road, will use the financial boost to assist with its expenditure and to help the younger children in the community to put their “first steps” on their learning ladder, all through play
Set up in 1972, Bradley Playgroup and Toddlers is run by a committee of 10 volunteers and three staff members.
It provides an essential service to the local community as a safe, secure and stimulating environment where children are able to access a wide variety of quality educational activities.
The charity runs five sessions a week, including a Mother and Toddler Group on a Friday where they offer both indoor and outdoor activities such as painting, construction and water and sand play.
More recently Bradley Playgroup and Toddlers updated its garden area with a mud kitchen and planting section.
Claire Harrison, the charities chairperson, said: “We’re delighted that the Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund has recognised our work in this way.
“We’re thankful for the funding so that we’ll be able to continue offering a high quality service to our local children.
Alex Newland, the charities Lead Supervisor said: “The grant from Hafren Dyfrdwy really does mean the world to us. Bradley Playgroup and Toddlers relies on the support of our local community and businesses.
“We are always extremely grateful when the hard work of our staff and team of volunteers is recognised.”
The new funding from the Hafren Dyfrdwy Community Fund, which this year is offering grants to organisations supporting communities based in its region who need help with their core costs, means the charity has support to continue to run activities for the next 12 months.
