One lane eastbound A55 by Posthouse roundabout reopens after several hour closure
Update 6:15PM North West Motorway Police have published the above image, as well as providing an update to the closures.
We still have 1 lane closed on the Eastbound Carriageway of the A55
Recovery has been arranged for the vehicle involved.

Update 5pm: A55 Eastbound closure has been extended back to Broughton to “help manage the traffic.”
Traffic Wales has also said diverted traffic is now affecting the A494 in Deeside.
Update 3 PM: Accident investigation are now on scene at the incident. The latest official information states, “Eastbound Carriageway will remain closed for some time whilst they carry out their work.”

Update: One person has been taken to hospital with multiple injuries following the incident. The air ambulance returned to base in Barton.
Update 2:15 PM: The westbound carriageway has reopened after the air ambulance has left the incident and returned to base.

The A55 is closed to the east just past the Posthouse Roundabout following a serious collision.
Emergency services are on the scene and the road is closed in both directions to allow an air ambulance to land. There are queues at the north end of the A483 due to the incident.
North West Motorway Police tweeted: “We are dealing with an Serious RTC on the A55, Chester Southerly By Pass.”
“Police Are on Scene. The carriageway will be closed in both directions for Air ambulance to land. Please find an alternative route.”

Traffic reports indicate a car has overturned.

Latest traffic report for the area states: “Road blocked and stationary traffic due to rolled over car on A55 both ways between J38 A483 Wrexham Road (Posthouse Roundabout) and J39 A41 (Sainsbury’s / Boughton Heath Roundabout).”
