20 tonne sandpit comes to Wrexham city centre as WrexSands returns!

Get ready for an unforgettable weekend as all the fun of the seaside comes to Wrexham city centre with an all-inclusive family festival starting tomorrow through Sunday!

WrexSands its gates tomorrow at 10am on Llwyn Isaf (Library field), promising three days of non-stop excitement and entertainment for all ages.

Organisers say, “WrexSands is a fully enclosed site, so your children can freely explore and have an adventure with their friends, all in a safe environment. ”

Running from Friday to Sunday, this event offers a myriad of activities and attractions guaranteed to delight the whole family. The fun kicks off each day at 10am, with closing times at 6pm on Friday and Saturday, and 5pm on Sunday.

As advertised there has been discounted tickets available, but you can still join the fun by purchasing tickets at the gate for £15.

What’s Included?

With your wristband, you’ll have access to all the fairground rides, plus much more:

  • Spider Mountain – Giant Slide: Perfect for thrill-seekers.
  • Nerf Wars: A fun and safe way to engage in some friendly combat.
  • Box Fort Building: Get creative and construct your own fort.
  • Tug of War: Test your strength and teamwork.
  • Circus Skills: Learn some impressive new tricks.
  • 20 Tonne Sandpit: Let the kids dig and play to their hearts’ content.
  • Live Music All Day: Enjoy tunes from 11am to 4:45pm daily.

Relax and Unwind

For the adults looking to take a break, there are deck chairs available to sit back and relax. Stroll through the artisan market, and enjoy a variety of food and drinks from the onsite bar, coffee stalls, and cake vendors. You’re also welcome to bring your own food to enjoy a picnic at the event.

Special Features

To ensure everyone can enjoy the fair, there will be quiet/SEN times from 10am to 11am and 4:45pm to 6pm, providing a calmer environment for those who need it.

Important Reminders

Organisers note, no dogs are allowed at the event -, “To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for children of all ages to roam and explore, WrexSands is a dog-free event. Many children will be sitting on the ground or playing in the sandpit, and while we love well-behaved pups, we also recognize that some kids might feel uneasy around dogs”.

“However, assistance dogs are always welcome at our events. Please be prepared to show your assistance registration card to our gate staff for verification.”

Additionally, no glass or alcohol is permitted on the premises, but food is encouraged to be brought and enjoyed!
